FULK'S TREE FARM
Open Friday after Thanksgiving at 9 AM
Fulk's Tree Farm is a family owned farm located in northwest Missouri. We have Scotch Pine and White Pine trees that you can choose and cut down yourself. There is a nice selection of freshly precut fir trees, wreaths, and garlands. While you check out in our heated barn, you can pick up gift items along with tree ornaments, stands, disposal bags and other necessary items. Rather than drive to your local hardware store for a tree, come take a drive in the country and get a fresh cut tree!
CHOOSE AND CUT PINE TREES
Our tree farm has a large selection of Scotch and White pine trees available tor you to choose and cut. Imagine sharing the experience of cutting down the perfect tree for your home. The trees are easily cut down using the saws we provide for you to use. For your safety, no power saws are allowed on the farm to cut down trees.
SCOTCH PINE
Scotch Pine
As a Christmas tree, the Scotch Pine is known for its dark green foliage and stiff branches which are well suited for decorating with both light and heavy ornaments. It has excellent needle retention characteristics. It resists drying and if permitted to become dry does not drop its needles. When displayed in a water filled container it will remain fresh for the normal 3 to 4 week Christmas season. Like all natural trees it is readily recyclable and has many different uses following the Christmas holidays.
WHITE PINE
White Pine
The White Pine has soft, long needles that are a mixture of light green and white in color. The branches do not hold heavy ornaments as well as the firs, spruces, and Scotch Pine. White Pine keep their needles for a good length of time after cutting.
FIR TREES
We know some people prefer fir trees so we have a selection of pre-cut Frazier, Douglas and Balsam firs. These types of trees do not grow well in our area so we buy them directly from tree growers in Michigan. How is this different then from buying from a large supplier? Our trees are stored in the cool climate of the farms up north and shipped directly to our farm. They do not sit in a warehouse for months prior to their sale
BALSAM FIR
As a Christmas tree, balsam fir has several desirable properties. It has a dark-green appearance, long-lasting needles, and attractive form. It also retains its pleasing fragrance. Needles have a broad circular base and are usually dark green on the upper surface, lighter on the lower surface
FRAZIER FIR
The combination of form, needle retention, dark blue-green color, pleasant scent and excellent shipping characteristics has led to Fraser fir being a most popular Christmas tree species. The needles are ½ to one inch long, are flattened, dark-green with a medial groove on the upper side and two broad silvery-white bands on the lower surface.
DOUGLAS FIR
The Douglas Fir is known as the “traditional” Christmas tree. The needles are dark green or blue green, 1 to 1 1/2 inches long, soft to the touch and radiate out in all directions from the branch. They have a sweet fragrance when crushed. Nationally, it remains one of the most popular Christmas trees species.
